That’s the view of Ann Kolman, EVP and head of US treaty casualty reinsurance for SompoRe, Sompo’s global reinsurance business. Kolman spoke to Captive Review about the evolving role of reinsurance in supporting group captives particularly within the US, where her team has focused for more than a decade. Having spent 18 years with the company, Kolman has seen the group captive reinsurance portfolio expand significantly, both in terms of the number of captives and in the organic growth of individual programmes.
