Satyan Sawhney

Satyan Sawhney is Chief Strategy Officer, SompoRe & COO, Sompo Life Re. Prior to joining Sompo's Global Reinsurance team in 2023, he previously served as Group Chief Risk Officer, Sompo International Holdings Ltd.
In addition to leading Sompo's new Life Reinsurance platform, Mr Sawhney is responsible for advising SompoRe on underwriting strategy and portfolio design in addition to working collaboratively with business and functional leadership to advance Global Reinsurance’s analytical, data and operational capabilities.
Prior to joining Sompo, he held risk and actuarial leadership roles in the London Market and was a founding member of a Lloyd’s syndicate and managing agent.
Mr. Sawhney holds a Master of Science degree in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.
