Head of Property, Energy & Engineering Lines, Insurance, Continental Europe
Sander van Voorden was appointed Head of Property, Energy & Engineering Lines, Insurance, Continental Europe at Sompo in November 2025. Based in Munich, he is responsible for leading the property, energy and engineering portfolios across Sompo’s Continental European markets.
Mr van Voorden has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, with deep expertise in property, engineering, construction insurance, portfolio management and underwriting governance.
Prior to joining Sompo, he served as Global Head of Property, Engineering and Construction at Generali Global Corporate & Commercial, based in Milan. He previously held several senior leadership roles at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, across Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and the United States.
Mr van Voorden holds a Master of Science in Insurance Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
