Sam Sharp
Head of First Party Insurance Claims, London
Sam Sharp is Head of First Party Insurance Claims, London at Sompo, a role he has held since 2022.
He is responsible for leading Sompo’s First Party Claims function across Property, Energy, Marine, Aviation, Crisis Management and Agriculture.
Mr Sharp joined Sompo in 2021 as Head of Property Claims, where he led the Property claims team before assuming broader responsibility for building and developing the First Party Claims capability. In his current role, he oversees claims strategy, operational delivery and service standards across multiple lines of business, with a focus on fair, timely and consistent claims outcomes.
Prior to joining Sompo, Mr Sharp began his career as a solicitor, specializing in international coverage disputes within the Property, Energy and Marine markets.
He subsequently moved into a senior claims role at a multinational insurer, gaining extensive experience across complex first party claims and global portfolios.
