Michele Lanni was appointed Head of Casualty, Insurance, Italy at Sompo in September 2023. Based in Milan, he is responsible for leading the Casualty underwriting portfolio in Italy.
Mr Lanni has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, with deep expertise in casualty underwriting, business development and distribution across European markets.
Prior to joining Sompo, he held senior roles at Mithras Underwriting Europe and at Victor Insurance Italia. Earlier in his career, he worked at QBE Europe in London, where he gained experience in the Lloyd’s market as Casualty Underwriter and member of the Continental Europe Market Management Team.
Mr Lanni holds a master's degree in business administration and management from the University of Naples Federico II and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the same institution.
