Head of Financial Lines, Insurance, Continental Europe
Mathieu Borneuf is Head of Financial Lines, Insurance, Continental Europe. He has been with Sompo since February 2018. In his role, Mr Borneuf is responsible for the strategic direction, underwriting oversight and portfolio management of Financial Lines across the region, working closely with brokers and clients to support sustainable growth.
Mr Borneuf has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience, with deep expertise in Financial Lines, including Directors and Officers, Professional Liability, Financial Institutions and Fiduciary risks.
Prior to joining Sompo, he held senior leadership roles at The Navigators Group and Torus Insurance, where he led Management and Professional Lines across Continental Europe. Earlier in his career, he worked at Marsh and AIG, gaining experience in underwriting, client advisory and team leadership roles across Europe and Australia.
Mr Borneuf completed executive education at Wharton Executive Education and holds postgraduate qualifications in Insurance from Université Panthéon-Sorbonne and degrees in International Business Law and Civil Law from Paris-Pantheon-Assas University.
