Luca Ricca was appointed Head of Financial Lines, Insurance, Italy at Sompo in September 2023. He is responsible for leading the Financial Lines underwriting strategy and portfolio across the Italian market.
Mr Ricca has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on financial lines, casualty, and financial institutions' risks.
He joined Sompo from ANV. Earlier in his career, Mr Ricca held underwriting roles at Beazley, Liberty Mutual Insurance, XL Insurance, DUAL Italia and Zurich Insurance Company, gaining broad experience across international and domestic portfolios. He began his professional career in the legal sector, working as a legal trainee in Italy.
Mr Ricca holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Università Carlo Cattaneo and a master's degree in law and economics of financial Markets from IPSOA.
