Ian Keegan was appointed Head of Specialty, UK and Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), EWIL, and Interim Head of Commercial at Sompo in April 2026.
In these roles, he is responsible for underwriting leadership, portfolio oversight and strategic direction across Sompo’s UK specialty and commercial businesses, supporting consistent underwriting standards and market engagement.
Mr Keegan has held a number of senior leadership positions at Sompo. His previous roles include Executive Vice President and Head of London Market, as well as Specialty Product Leader for Global Markets, where he worked across international portfolios and supported the development of specialty underwriting capabilities.
Prior to joining Sompo, Mr Keegan spent nearly six years at Hiscox, where he held senior underwriting and leadership roles.
