Head of Business Development, Insurance, Continental Europe
Herndon Stokes was appointed Head of Business Development, Insurance, Continental Europe at Sompo in October 2023. In this role, Mr Stokes is responsible for Distribution, Client and Broker Management, Business Development and Risk Control, supporting Sompo’s commercial objectives across Continental Europe.
Mr Stokes has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. His career spans roles across business development, distribution, underwriting governance and strategic account management, with extensive experience across Europe and North America.
Prior to joining Sompo, he held senior positions at AXIS Capital and Munich Re, where he managed global client relationships, led business development initiatives and held P&L responsibility across multiple lines of business.
Mr Stokes holds a Master of Business Administration in Business Management and Strategy and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Finance.
