Daniel Rüegg was appointed Head of Financial Lines, Insurance, Switzerland at Sompo in March 2024.
Mr Rüegg brings over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with deep expertise in leading and growing portfolios, particularly within the Cyber and Professional Indemnity classes.
Prior to joining Sompo, he spent nearly a decade at AIG, where he most recently served as Practice Leader for Cyber and Professional Indemnity in Switzerland. In this role, he was responsible for product strategy, portfolio management, and team leadership. Earlier in his career, he held underwriting and analyst roles in financial lines, serving major accounts across both domestic and international insurance programs.
Mr Rüegg holds a Master of Arts in Management and Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Zurich. He also holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
