Claire Smith is Head of HR, UK at Sompo, where she is responsible for leading the UK people strategy and advising senior leadership on organisational effectiveness, talent development and workforce planning.
In this role, Mrs Smith supports the business through periods of change and growth, ensuring alignment between people priorities and strategic objectives.
Mrs Smith has more than 20 years of HR experience across financial services and insurance. She brings expertise in organisational change, talent strategy and senior stakeholder advisory, developed through leadership roles in complex, regulated environments.
Prior to joining Sompo, Mrs Smith held a global HR leadership role at Aspen. There, she oversaw the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) as SMF7, served on the UK Executive Committee and led the global HR Business Partner team. Mrs Smith holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
