Head of Claims, Insurance, Italy
Chiara Casati was appointed Head of Claims, Insurance, Italy at Sompo in April 2024. Based in Milan, she is responsible for leading the Italian Claims function, overseeing claims strategy, operational performance and claims governance.
Ms Casati has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and legal sectors, with deep expertise in financial lines and complex claims management.
She joined Sompo from Chubb, where she spent 14 years in the Claims department, most recently with responsibility for managing and coordinating financial lines claims in Italy. Prior to this, she held senior claims roles at AIG, DUAL Corporate Risks and Cunningham Lindsey, and began her career as a practicing lawyer with a focus on maritime and civil law.
Ms Casati holds a law degree in Jurisprudence from the University of Genoa and is qualified to practice as a civil lawyer in Italy.
