Head of Claims, Insurance, Switzerland
Baptiste Morard was appointed Head of Claims, Insurance, Switzerland at Sompo in December 2024. Based in Zurich, he is responsible for leading the claims function across Switzerland, with oversight of complex claims management, litigation and strategic claims governance.
Mr Morard has extensive experience across insurance claims, reinsurance and legal practice, with a strong focus on Financial Lines and Casualty.
Prior to joining Sompo, he served as Head of Reinsurance Claims for Continental Europe at Everest Reinsurance Company. He previously held senior legal and claims roles at Zurich Insurance Company and Helvetia Versicherungen Schweiz, and began his career in legal practice, including roles within the Swiss judicial system.
Mr Morard is a qualified Swiss lawyer and holds a Master of Law from the University of Fribourg and the University of Augsburg, and an Executive Certificate in Accounting and Finance from HEC Lausanne.
