COLOGNE, Germany – January 9, 2024 – Sompo today announced Volker Steufer as Head of Marine Insurance for Germany and Austria. He will be based in Cologne and report into Malte Dittmann, Country Manager, Insurance for Germany and Austria.
Mr Dittmann said, “With global volatility and geo-political tensions set to continue into 2024, the international marine market will remain in the spotlight. Major trade routes, in particular, have been subjected to great pressure during the post-pandemic realignment. Volker’s experience and strong broker relationships will be a tremendous asset to us as the market evolves.”
With nearly 30 years of experience in the German insurance market, working with Gothaer Versicherungen, XL Catlin and Winterthur International, Mr Steufer joins from KA Köln.Assekuranz Agentur GmbH, an ERGO company, where he was a Senior Marine Insurance Underwriter.
